When I was a kid I owned a 1987 Nissan Stanza wagon that become an oil burner at higher mileage. Prior to owning my 2011 CR-V I owned a 2007 Toyota RAV4 before a accident and total loss at 123K miles. Have you mentioned this to your mechanic and/or the dealer yet about having to top off oil between changes? Especially because the mileage isn't all that high on your CR-V. I can only answer in reference to excessive oil consumption defect on certain 2011 CR-V vehicles.įrom what I know (I'm not a mechanic, just an enthusiast who likes to be knowledge to what's important to me), it's not a normal operation to have to add more oil between recommended manufacturer oil changes. I can't answer that about a "normal top off", unfortunately. Of course, the size of the CR-V can't compete with a minivan for space. So much is in how you care for the car, how you drive it, and I'd say an very important factor is also if you live in a rust prone state. Of course I'm not sure what work has been done on those, but clearly they keep ticking.and most of us aren't going to drive a car to 300k let alone 400k. If those are 2nd gens believe me you'll hear shortly from one of those owners lol □ □ If you search this sub, I believe there's a 3rd gen that a guy talks about that's hit about 450k miles with one of his delivery drivers.and then theres the notorious 1 million mile, CR-V which I believe is also a 3rd gen (could be wrong). I verified all the recalls were handled on mine, and I assume you had them handled on yours. The main thing I was afraid of with the 2011 were the recall issues (excessive oil consumption, airbags) if they were handled and the random acceleration issue that happened with some (only an issue early on, you'd know by now if you have it). It drives so well, and they just replaced rear sway bar before I purchased. I'm pretty well researched on 3rd gens and especially the 2011.
